What is an anorectal malformation?

 This is an uncommon condition in babies, where the anus doesn’t form correctly. It may be in the wrong place or missing entirely.

Colostomy

Some conditions will require the child to divert bowel movements (poo) away from the affected area. This means they can empty into a bag on the abdominal wall. This is called a stoma.
